Black Women Experiencing

The purpose of the “Black Women Experiencing” study is to understand the experience of Black women in 2020. We want to understand the positive and negative emotions Black women have experienced this year. We will also focus on experiences of shame, as this emotion has often been referred as a “hidden emotion”. We expect that the 2020 cultural shift to center Black lives will have a substantial impact, positively and negatively, on the well-being of Black women. Therefore, this study seeks to understand the emotional experiences of Black women to better inform researchers, practitioners, support groups, and healing circles seeking to uplift Black women.
